Re NAC: I still wonder why the FDA made it prescription only. It has no serious side effects. It is a great supplement for liver health. One of the big uses for it is in the hospital for Tylenol overdose.

Perhaps it has eaten into Big Pharma's pockets too much.

But you can still get it when mixed with something else like milk thistle.

I'd say difficulty breathing and constant vomiting can be a serous side effect.
