A word to the wise: if you’re ever planning on setting up camp, make sure you check the weather forecast for things like, I don’t know, some light flooding perhaps? Clearly these people didn’t understand that you can’t plunk yourself
Maybe they need a warning.? Here in NNY they have started to warn people that on 80 degree days in May the water might still give you hypothermia.
I'm sure it can. If you remain submerged in said water for a longish period of time while ignoring your body screaming "get me the hell out of this water"
Warning labels and announcements have dumbed down our world.

Those were the days and the kids loved it! As for me now, I have noticed that the ground is much harder than it used to be.

I love camping. Some years back I went camping with my family in early spring, and it was still snowing out. I remember we were all bundled in our coats around the camp fire, and the snow was falling all around us while we drank our hot drinks and cooked food over the fire and laughed. It was magic.

At night the sound of rocks tumbling in the stream brings a sort of sleep you just can't find in the city. Somehow it is soothing to the soul. Come morning the call of crows echo off the mountain sides, as you start a fire to make your morning coffee. Honestly to me there's nothing quite like it.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

Even with a tarp over the top of the tent it pissed rain inside my tent all weekend long. Was so done with camping after that experience that i actually threw my tent and at the time soaking wet camping gear in the trash dump on the way out of the park. Haven't been camping since and never plan to......
Now you know why I aways get a room first.

Have a happy "woods" experience, then pack up at night and sleep dry in a warm soft bed, and take a hot shower in the morning.
Let the rain do what it wants.

No tent...just the basics for cooking and sitting around the fire.
When it is not allowed to be questioned, it is not science, it is PROPAGANDA
