So I am sure this is mostly political but it does benefit them.

I wonder if that is used in the interview now?

And if you get pregnant then we will pay for you to go kill the kid and get you back to work the next day!
Sure. The companies saves thousands not having to pay for maternal leave, family health care, and so on. They encourage women to have 'careers' rather than children, and that makes hard economic sense. But it's certainly not in the long term interests of the country.

    It makes great PR.

QUOTE=DGUtley;3537173]It makes great PR.[/QUOTE]Yes, on the surface. They want these wpman to devote their lives to the company tather than a family,

Some years ago a friend of mine flying for BA hurt his back and was transferred to HR for a while. During this period BA, like many airlines, was suffering from staff turnovers with stewardesses, as they were then called. They realized that most woken spent just two years there and after the glamor was over left to get married and raise families. That was normal. But after all the training etc. this was costly for BA.

They then changed the policy to hire women who were slightly neurotic, there were many tests, who wanted to marry their jobs instead, perhaps without even realizing it..

It certainly worked and staff turnovers dropped dramatically. That's why we see many elderly stewardesses today.
