Martin needlessly provoked a confrontation and got himself killed. There should be a lesson to learn in there somewhere.

Not sure what you are talking about. The only issues that I heard of were from his ex-wife and they commonly call ex-husbands everything from abusers to child molesters at divorce time and then retract it later.

    Additional note:

The list of all the phone calls as printed by the media included things like his alarm went off at his house as a Zimmerman call. Or then the one where there was a stray pitbull in his garage.

The media went overboard in character assassination.
NBC had to fire their editor for doctoring the tape. CNN looked foolish once again.

A lack of conviction means he wasn't proven guilty. But innocence wasn't proven. It wasn't the objective to prove him innocent, only that they didn't have enough to find him guilty, whether he was or wasn't.

He was found not guilty because he did not commit a crime. He acted in self defense. Martin attacked him and was killed as a result. That’s all.

In order to be guilty one must first commit a crime.

You are welcome to your opinion. But the court didn't say that, they just said that there will be no conviction based on the information received. "Not Guilty" is not the same as "Innocent".
