    Recession

According to the joe biden Administration we are not in a recession. Although the definition of a recession for the past 100 years has been two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth we are not in a recession because we are changing the definition of recession. As Humpty Dumpty famously said in Alice in Wonderland words mean just what I want them to mean we can change the meaning of well established words because we want them to mean something different.

What next? Elections no longer mean citizens voting for the candidate of their choice?
Devotion to the truth is the hallmark of morality; there is no greater, nobler, more heroic form of devotion than the act of a man who assumes the responsibility of thinking.”

That would be whatever you code the Dominion voting machines to say who the vote was for.

The same folks who were going on about a Trump Recession long before the actual post COVID numbers came in:

Lets be honest and recognize the Left Media and Democrat Party are complicit in harming the American people for political gain.

It's called reimagining recession. Just as these same people have likewise reimagined everything from criminal justice to femaleness to disastrous effect. It's a mind game made viable by the devolution of our intellectual life into postmodernist absurdism where nothing has actual meaning and, accordingly, anything is possible. Maybe this isn't a recession if we refuse to believe it is! Maybe if we just focus our minds strongly enough on the low unemployment rate, the positive vibes so generated will undo the 3.6% decline in inflation-adjusted wages the working class has endured over the last year, reverse the upticks in hunger and homelessness we have seen, and reverse the present situation wherein 40% of Americans are now struggling to pay their bills back to the 27% it was at a year ago. Perhaps with enough wishful thinking, we can erase the material human suffering behind these supposedly empty GDP numbers!

Or perhaps with less bull$#@!, the case for re-electing the Democrats would become even more difficult than it already is.

This is simple. You are in a recession when I damn well tell you that you are in a recession. Until then you are still in a flourishing economy.

Well it depends on whether you keep your job or not.

What a recession could mean for you

    Brace for layoffs

Over the past two years, the pandemic-induced worker shortage -- coupled with a structural shortage in which fewer younger workers are replacing retiring workers -- has given employees a lot of negotiating power.

Consequently, unemployment and job cuts have been at or near historic lows.

"We've been in a period of extremely low layoffs and a labor shortage. Companies have been reticent to let go of anybody," said Andrew Challenger, senior vice president of global outplacement firm Challenger Gray & Christmas.

That is starting to change, Challenger said. Layoffs have been ticking up in some industries, such as mortgage banking, fintech, construction and autos.

If a recession hits, layoffs are likely to be higher and more widespread. And employers may pull back on hiring.

But not everyone will be at equal risk. If your role is in high demand -- whether as a frontline worker, an IT engineer or a top-level executive -- chances are you will be most likely to get a job, keep a job and even see raises and bonuses along the way.

Buying and selling a home will be different

Biden keeps bragging about jobs gained but they are not net jobs gained but the actual number employed in June is lower than the number employed in April. Only the number "not in the work force" has risen. Those numbers are also not even significant when you look at the entire year but they would be if you added up all his jobs gained number.

In short they are just job switching not jobs gained.
