Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

There was this today: Do right-wing evangelicals really want a "Christian nation"? Hell no!
Perception is not reality. I know many people who are more obsessed with how they are perceived than with actually being the person they are claiming to be. The political world is no different. Many of today's evangelical Republicans desire the perception of wanting a "Christian nation," but without any intention of ever creating a truly Christian nation.
A genuinely Christian America would be forced to do some things that most evangelicals will never be on board with. Following the teachings of Christ would make certain demands upon our society that these evangelicals would vehemently fight against.
On immigration, the teachings of Jesus would demand that every foreigner residing in this country would be given citizenship....
It only gets worse.

Lol Chris, He let people die in the desert for their unbelief and not enter the promise land. I don't know what Jesus they are talking about. He sent a flood and killed off many, He destroyed Sodom, and when He comes back He will bring His wrath upon the earth. But they think they know Him.
Well all I know is Jesus didn't tell anyone to let the government care for others.

Didn't need to, they did just fine with their own social services, which was the main function of churches originally. They did such an admirable job taking care of their own Constantine put them in charge of the Empire's social services. The pagan cultists under the other three dictators tried to compete but failed miserably. So, of course the Republicans are just as likely to reject Christian mores as the commies, deviants, and 'social libertarians' are.
Evangelicals only vote Republican because the Party used to be against abortion on demand and homosexual fetishists being allowed to marry and groom children in the public school systems, and not a whole lot else. The Party establishment takes them for granted, same as they did the black vote for decades, and doesn't really like Christian values much at all. This is why Da Evul Xians are on their way to death camps and ovens sooner or later, no matter which Party wins; the Davos Set and Wall Street are tired of their annoying morals and principles.
