    Stupidity

Imagine your son comes home from school one day and tells you he grabbed a girl's backside. Proud father, you tell him one day he could be president of the most powerful nation on earth. Hard to imagine? In America today - Not hard at all. Your daughter brags that she shouted at the Principal in the auditorium when he talked about the coming school year. Another candidate for the Republican Congress, do you smile or cry. Why.

Each day when I return online I am amazed at the level of stupidity of the republicans and the so called conservative right. There is nothing conservative about republicans today - they resemble a cult. When it isn't inflammatory rhetoric aimed at democrats and democracy itself, it is hatred directed at America's diversity and accomplishments. Autocracy and oligarchy appeal to many as it is simple, just point at the other. Foes make analysis unnecessary, we good they bad. Trump is still the republicans leader and they kowtow to his base for they fear it will turn on them. That base is a biased base when it isn't just motivated by private interest. Fox Newsmax and OAN support this ignorance and autocratic behavior. Online there are many sites that preach conspiracy mixed with hatred for the other - for those who are different.

Policy disagreement is no longer debated, discussed, analyzed, today it is labeled. Dog whistles manage the minds of many Americans and replace thought. Just say 'woke', critical race theory (CRT), inner city, welfare recipient, Gay, Transgender. Once it was Reagan's welfare queen, today it is all the place, a veritable hodgepodge of enemies to denigrate. And the irony is the enemy is now your neighbor, a fellow American.

Many Republicans, and can I say Americans are sadly purposefully stupid today for they realize the base of voters are uneducated and often concerned with a single issue and thus easily led. Mention abortion guns racism immigrants socialism bigotry trans or BLM or any other dog whistle and you have them in your pocket. They are easy. Others though are really stupid like Marjorie Taylor Green, a QAnon idiot who not only believes conspiracy nonsense, but is conversationally and mentally immature. And then there is Lauren Boebert who like some school yard bully heckles the POTUS. Josh Hawley, a veteran raises his arm in support of the fall of the government he once served. Hard to believe ain't it.

And many rural areas are especially stupid IMHO. Your ZIP code today may indicate whether you support the autocrats. Why is that? It is not just education, although the lack of a balanced public education system has had an effect. Today so called Christian schools dominate certain groups and while there is nothing wrong with a Christian education, one still lives in a diverse society and should respect all even when they are different. No need to be open and tolerant any longer, ever wonder what their Jesus would think.

The SCOTUS hearing demonstrated the republican stupidity first hand, while they had no trouble with an accused rapist on the court, an intelligent black woman was a no no for their racist right. Violence toward woman and others is fine as Trump demonstrated so often during his rallies, but suddenly republicans are deeply concerned with children. Of course an examination of the evidence demonstrates their hypocrisy here too as they confirmed judges with the same record as Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Why are President Biden accomplishments so little recognized? Simple really, everything democratic, everything the president says and does is reinterpreted through a partisan filter of hate, bias, and bigotry. Fox OAN and Newsmax, along with many so called think tanks and online sites such as Gab are anti-democracy, anti-American values of inclusion, and anti-common respect, values that used to be considered religious, Christian. What happened to respect for all people regardless of their ethnicity or sexual being.

Closing thoughts, many republican claim to believe in God, so how is God not 'woke' to use their pejorative? Does their God follow QAnon? Or does their God not respect creation. What does their God think of Trump, a malignant narcissist? What causes people to support dishonest leaders? Hate? Lack of compassion? Ignorance?

Later I will link 'Bonhoeffer‘s Theory of Stupidity'. Look it up now if you like. The Daily Show's 'Jordan Klepper vs. Trump Supporters' is a fascinating view into the minds of those who support Trump and the republicans. Why are so many Americans hateful of the other, is it just stupidity? Or is it deeper....

You exemplify the very attributes you claim to detest.

If you didn't find something valuable in visiting internet forums daily--you wouldn't do it.

You're selective in your outrage, however. You dismiss those who didn't make a big deal out of Trump's locker talk about grabbing backsides, but when Tara Reade accused Biden of sexual misconduct, you blamed the victim.

    Puh-leeze.......

You condemn rural areas for being stupid, yet you couldn't feed yourself if you had to--those rural areas are keeping you alive. Who'd stupid, now?

He’s never been in a locker room - or gone fishing for that matter. He doesn’t get tall tales or braggadocio. He probably thinks that when Trump joked about asking the Russians to hack Hillary‘s already destroyed email server, that he was really asked them to go ahead and hack her server.
