Yes. A lot of tribal and ethnic groups seem to have their origins there or just to the east of there, as a did a lot of languages.
I would add that the route Abraham was alleged to have traveled to get to the Med area is more likely to have been south through eastern Turkey and not from the 'Ur' far to the east, near the early Babylon. They in turn would have migrated south from nearly the same region as the Yamna. So, the Muslims version of Abraham's history may be right for once, in this case.
