Thumbs up Frank Gore arrested for dragging naked woman by hair in Atlantic City hotel

Frank Gore allegedly dragged naked woman by hair in Atlantic City hotel

Disturbing details have emerged following NFL great Frank Gore’s domestic violence charge. Gore was charged with simple assault following a July 31 incident in Atlantic City at the Tropicana Casino’s Havana Tower. Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that police say that Gore grabbed a woman by her hair while she was naked and dragged her across the hallway of her hotel room.

Gore “violently dragging her nude person along the floor of the 59th hallway” after “forcibly” grabbing her hair, police said in court documents. The alleged victim, 28, spoke to hotel security about the incident. Police arrived at the scene shortly after 8 a.m. on July 31, and did not immediately make an arrest as the woman “did not exhibit signs of injury.”

Gore, 39, is set to have a hearing in October. The former running back for the 49ers, Colts, Dolphins, Bills and Jets is third all-time in NFL rushing yards. His 16,000 yards on the ground trail only Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith.

I am shocked at this accusation because Gore always seemed like such a solid guy. A role model even. If true he needs to face the music. But then I. a lifetime 49er fan, would have to wonder if at 39 he just suddenly became abusive or if this has history behind it? I have never dragged anyone by the hair so I have no idea what sort of injury that should leave or how immediately obvious it would be.

You have to wonder if the CTE creeps into the brain and leads to this violence...

Maybe, but it can't be tolerated.

I'm more of the mind that pro-sports *stars* have an artificial sense that they're somehow wonderful, which leads them to think they can do whatever they want.

That's one of the reasons I steer clear of pro sports. Some are good guys, I'm sure, but I prefer giving our young people heroes that excel in the sciences, medicine, art, or something else that's directly beneficial to society.

He may or may not have previously dragged anyone down the street by the hair before but let's at least agree that he needs to find a healthier manner in which to express himself

When was the last time 107,000 people packed a stadium to watch someone conjugate a verb?

    Not the same thing.

I have seen (and participated) in the '107,000 people packing a stadium', to watch Joe Montana or Jerry Rice. I don't recall such antics....

    That made me giggle.

But seriously, is pro football a throwback to the days of gladiators? Is it really something we should encourage?

I don't view it as that. I think it is very enjoyable to watch - both college and pro.

I have never figured out why seeing a bunch of grownups playing children's games holds such an attraction for people.

Now, if their shoulder pads and helmets had sharpened steel spikes and they wore spiked gloves, the game might have some potential.
