    Leave it to Beaver characters

With the very recent death of Tony Dow ("Wally Cleaver"--Beaver's older brother), most of the cast of Leave it to Beaver is now gone, it seems.

Hugh Beaumont ("Ward Cleaver"--the father) died way back in 1982 (May 14, to be exact).

Barbara Billingsley ("June Cleaver"--the mother) lived much longer; but she died October 16, 2010.

Frank Bank ("Clarence 'Lumpy'" Rutherford) died April 13, 2013.

Richard Deacon ("Lumpy's" father) died August 8, 1984.

Ken Osmond (Wally's friend) died May 18, 2020.

Stanley Fafara (Hubert "Whitey" Whitney) died September 20, 2003.

Some of Beaver's other friends may have fared better, however.

I am not really certain of the status as concerning Stephen Talbot ("Gilbert Bates" or Rusty Stevens ("Larry Mondello").

Rusty Steven's mom, wasn't well liked by the other stage mothers, it was said she was extremely bossy, Larry Mondelo stopped appearing on the show, because his real family moved out of state.

Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell) gave a talk at our local library before he passed in 2020. I recall he had written a book and was promoting it.

Didn't he become a police officer? I seem to remember something like that from a long time ago.

A lot of those shows from those days we watched because there were only like three channels here, then four, and the afternoon talk shows just weren't 'kid friendly', except for the comedians and the occasional rock band gig. I rarely watch them these days, except the westerns and Dobie Gillis, which seems have aged pretty well for a black and white sit com.

YES Eddie Haskell was with the LAPD.Ithink he was involved in an officer shooting one time.I need to look that up.Osmond died at his home in Los Angeles on May 18, 2020, at age 76, from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and peripheral artery disease. News of his death was first announced by his son Eric in a statement through Osmond's representative.

Wow, didn't know he had been shot. Three times pretty much guarantees some kind of permanent disability.
