Trump and a LARGE number of Republicans in our government (AKA the Radical Right Republicans; AKA the Trump-Chumps; AKA the MAGA-Fascists; AKA the Coup-Coup Bunch) are claiming that the FBI’s action to remove stolen government documents from Mar-a-Lago was unnecessary, illegal, and political. And they are making those claims because they want to generate chaos over this issue.
● Trump and chaos:
As we ALL know, Trump LOVES to create chaos. (That’s what his Big Lie is all about. Unfortunately for those who love democracy, that chaos led to the violent Jan6 effort to steal the election from Biden, and led state level MAGA-Fascists to pass a large number of anti-democracy laws.) And now Trump is creating chaos over documents that belong to the government; that is:
> In order to create chaos: Trump knowingly sent government documents to Mar-a-Lago, when he knew that it was NOT legal to do that. That is: he knew that the documents belonged to the government and NOT to him (i.e., he knew that he was stealing the documents); he knew that a number of these stolen documents were classified; and he knew that Mar-a-Lago was NOT a secure location for the classified documents.
> In order to create chaos: Trump ignored a number of government requests for him to return the stolen documents, and he gave them the runaround. After the government waited for well over a year, the DOJ got the approval of a federal judge to have the FBI take possession of the stolen documents. Bottom line: The government told Trump what documents he should return; and they repeatedly asked him to return those documents for well over a year; and they did so in order to avoid getting the FBI involved; but Trump ignored government’s requests, and he gave the them the runaround, for well over a year.
> In order to create chaos: Trump whined and lied about the FBI’s action to take possession of the stolen government documents; and he falsely claimed that the FBI’s action was a “raid”, despite the fact that the action was warranted and legal. (How slimy is that?)
> In order to create chaos: Trump suggested that the FBI would plant government documents at Mar-a-Lago. (Mr. Chaos failed to mention the fact that his lawyer was at Mar-a-Lago during the FBI’s action, AND that he watched the FBI’s action via security cameras installed at Mar-a-Lago.)
> And in order to create chaos: Trump wants to sue the government for “unlawful search and seizure of his property”. (That is so funny. Trump unlawfully seized property belonging to the government, and unlawfully stored it at Mar-a-Lago; and when the government lawfully seized their property at Mar-a-Lago, he wants to sue them. What a clown! But he is a dangerous clown.)
As MOST of us know, Trump’s claims about this issue are total nonsense, and they are designed to create chaos that will incite violence and weaken our democracy. And he hopes that a weakened democracy will make him more powerful. (Obviously, this man is ok with violence, and not ok with democracy.)
● The Trump-Chumps and chaos:
The Trump-Chumps LOVE the chaos created by Trump, and they are working in overdrive to intensify that chaos. That is:
> In order to intensify the chaos: The Trump-Chumps are making a lot of TOTALLY ABSURD accusations against the Democrats that are based on LOTS of nonsense and NO facts. (Apparently, the Chumps are suffering from EXTREME Democrat Derangement Syndrome … lol.).
> In order to intensify the chaos: The Trump-Chumps are claiming that Biden has weaponized the DOJ and the FBI against Trump, despite the fact that Biden had nothing to do with the FBI action at Mar-a-Lago.
> In order to intensify the chaos: The Trump-Chumps are claiming that Biden is abusing his power. (This comes after Trump abused his power for four years, and he did so with the support of the Chumps.)
> In order to intensify the chaos: The Trump-Chumps are claiming that the FBI cannot be trusted, because they make stuff up. (Apparently, the Chumps want us to forget that Trump is a serial liar; and when he isn’t lying, he’s making stuff up; for example, he made-up the hoax that the 2020 election was stolen from him.)
> In order to intensify the chaos: The Trump-Chumps are accusing the Democrats of being corrupt. (And the Chumps are doing so in order to defend Trump … a corrupt business man and a corrupt politician … lol.)
> In order to intensify the chaos: The Trump-Chumps are saying that Trump was merely trying preserve and protect the government documents in a place that was roughly as safe as a National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) facility. (That is ABSOLUTE NONSENSE! The NARA facilities were designed to preserve and protect government documents; Mar-a-Lago was NOT. Thus, those documents are infinitely safer at a NARA facility than at Mar-a-Lago. Furthermore, the law requires that those documents be stored in a NARA facility.)
> And in order to intensify the chaos: The Trump-Chumps are saying that if Trump can be raided, ANYONE can be raided. (And they are RIGHT. If you take (i.e., steal) documents that belong to the government, and you store those documents in your house, you TOO can be raided. And you SHOULD be raided, because you did something illegal, JUST LIKE Trump did something illegal … lol.)
I’m sure that the vast majority of Trump-Chumps KNOW that Trump’s claims about this issue are total nonsense, and they are designed to create chaos that will incite violence and weaken our democracy. But they are willing to buy into his nonsense. And they are willing to generate their own nonsense, which is designed to create chaos that will incite violence and weaken our democracy.
And the Chumps are doing so, because Trump owns them, and they have a pathological fear of him; and they hope that a weakened democracy will make Trump more powerful, AND make them more powerful. (Obviously, these people are ok with violence, and not ok with democracy.)
● In conclusion:
As the book written by a Republican strategist says: Everything Trump touches dies. As MOST of us can see, there is a lot of truth in that statement. Trump’s involvement in our government could lead to the demise of our democracy and our nation. That is:
> For many months now, Trump and his MAGA-Fascists have been in the process of destroying our democracy. And they are making significant progress. State level MAGA-Fascists have passed laws designed to suppress voting for Democrats; and they have passed laws designed to allow them to steal elections that Democrats won. And the federal level MAGA-Fascists in the Senate have refused to allow the passage two laws that would promote free-and-fair elections.
> And now, Trump and his Trump-Chumps are attacking our government over the FBI’s legal action to remove the stolen government documents that were illegally stored at Mar-a-Lago. These attacks have incited Trump’s supporters to threaten civil war. A civil war could destroy our nation.
So get ready to kiss our democracy, and our nation, goodbye. And you can thank Trump and his Radical Right Republicans for that.
