Were the dark ages a one time thing?

Taken to the nth degree current proposed cc policy will skyrocket the price of electricity, drive the commodity into short supply, limit business opportunity, growth and the size of the middle class. Coupled with proposed arbitrary bans on natural gas make life in very warm climates difficult and in make cold climates deadly
If these 2035 deadlines were to stay in place and be strictly enforced and other states adopt them we could be heading for a modern day dark age. Figuratively and literally.
The .1 percent will prosper and most of the rest of us won't. Kinda like stock market whenever it goes up or down quickly. Bunch of newly minted billionaires came out of lockdowns believe it or not. Electricity could be effectively rationed by price leaving the super rich or super connected elites in charge of almost all growth.
Of course they would have to make their money on our way down because goods markets beyond the staples would be limited.
"Save the planet" Globalized, control the world and turn it into a two class society? Free healthcare just enough wages to run the heat and frig a few hours a day.
While what really happens will probably and hopefully not be that dramatic it can be as dramatic as they wish to make it. That's the point.
Thinking about it in this way links socialism, lockdowns and CC and globalism in a neat but terrifying package
By the time the sheep awaken their will be a uniparty congress, a packed court and a completely unrecognizable interpretd Constitution.

I doubt that states that follow Cali's 2035 no more gas car lead will enact that law. What is more likely is that votes kick out the Climate Nuts and vote in cons who will repeal that legislation.

Most people think history is a progression toward better times both politically and economically. Progressives always think change is better and will always be pushing some new agenda on any society for example. Real students of history know this is a very false perception. Great civilizations come and go, and long periods of hard times most often follow.

Anyone who thinks the $#@! can't hit the fan just because we are so modern and advanced in our tech is foolish!

It won't happen because it can't possibly happen anymore than that High Speed Rail project, but we can waste Billions trying.................

They almost have to push it back some, which is probably already planned. I guess watching industry response would be a good tell as to where those in the know see this going.

I meant here they come again. I never looked at it as anything but a hiccup but maybe it's a cycle?

Interesting point, the dark ages were a global, or at least continental event though Today our tech is so tied to interactions and each side has it's own science. It would be awful for all of that to go dark but the chips are in place. What would a real killer pandemic have resulted in? Even if it happened and was managed can you imagine the level of government control that would have evolved?

It looks as if they want to take us back to a time of lords and serfs.
