I yelled at my husband last night. Not pick-up-your-socks yell. Not how-could-you-ignore-that-red-light yell. This was real yelling. This was 30 minutes of from-the-gut yelling. Triggered by a small, thoughtless, dismissive, annoyed, patronizing comment. Really small. A micro-wave that triggered a hurricane. I blew. Hard and fast. And it terrified me. I’m still terrified by what I felt and what I said.

I announced that I hate all men and wish all men were dead.

No one says they should. This person sounds like they let things build and fester, and let it out in one full blow.

I think everybody has had a moment of absolute frustration, and sometimes things get said that aren't really meant. So much depends on what happens after the blow up.

Given that she published it in WaPo, she meant it 100%. Washington Post is also guilty of publishing Hate Speech.

They're not - we're not. My own wife - with whom I find myself having fewer and fewer arguments as we get older - would never say anything like that to me, because, even after living and putting up with me for 33 years, she's not insane. I've never heard of any woman in my family or among my friends or my friends' wives who have ever experienced a meltdown quite like that one.

I have to say, CC, I believe your obsession with this topic and your apparent belief in the existence of a social dynamic that is overblown and wildly exaggerated at best is more than anything the result of your self-admitted isolation from the real world, coupled with your (also self-admitted) personal condition.

The media often portrays them as victims and for decades in the entertainment industry wives have generally been portrayed as smarter than their husbands. Even the children on TV series and commercials are smarter than their fathers.

Many men are no longer committing to a relationship and, knowing that sex is now readily available outside marriage, why should they? Women as friends has become more popular.

Reading some of the comments provided me with the insight that some women are self-centered, have no emotional control, and blame everyone within shout-reach for their frustrations. That said, there are some men of the same ilk.

I am thankful that I don't surround myself with people like that.

In addition, the younger generation, as a general statement, don't seem to know actually know how to interact with other people, and are used to spewing their emotions in verbally and physically violent ways because they have no clue how to deal with emotions.
