Looks really good. But I usually just microwave corn on the cob these days, tastes just as good or better than boiling to me. Of course it doesn't have the extra ingredients. I find you can microwave most vegetables with good results.

I still like it best on the grill. Soak it in the husk for a day and then cook it in the husk on top of the grill.

Garlic, brown sugar, milk? Um, just no.

Really good sweet corn doesn't need any of that. I remember driving home from my grandmother's farm in the '60s with bags of Golden Bantam sweet corn from her garden, and it was all we could do to keep from peeling back the husk on an ear and tasting it right then and there. (I recall some years ago a politician was ridiculed by some in the press for sampling an ear of raw corn at a campaign stop, until they were educated that yes, people actually do that.) Sometimes we'd make a whole meal of the corn, and it wasn't because we were poor or didn't have other food - it was just that good.

Boiled, buttered and salted - perfection.

Wet a paper towel wrap an ear in it and 2 minutes in a 1000 watt microwave and its better than boiled....

But I like corn best on the husk grilled or roasted corn with other vegetables.

My Aunt and Uncle lived across the street from us, growing up, my uncle put in a corn crop every year and, we'd go over there and pick several ears to take home........Uncle either didn't know or, didn't care.

Some years ago my sister back in Indiana ordered some sweet corn to be sent to us here in AZ - I don't recall the brand name, but it was supposed to be some kind of outstanding new breed, very pricey, and it came in a fancy little net bag. I was not impressed in the least. The kernels were tiny and it didn't really have much of a corn taste.

I'm sure there must be some good sweet corn available in Arizona because they've been growing it here forever, but so far the stuff in the supermarkets has been disappointing. Ironically, the best sweet corn I've had since moving here is the stuff they have at Church's Chicken.
