I don't fly much and the last few times was on south west. I did not have nearly enough leg room and I'm short. I honestly don't know how tall people do it. When we arrived my knees were generally locked up. Not that the width of the seats is much better

That's what ai try to do. On some airlines their business class is better than some first class.

International first class is where it's at on long-haul flights. I'm a Platinum Medallion on Delta, so I pretty much get upgraded to first class on most domestic flights. It's better for sure, but it's not a lie flat experience. Their comfort+ adds a bit of leg room, but it's not awesome. It's just what a standard seat used to be like.

I flew business class from SF to London on British Airways earlier this year. They have lay flat seats in business class on international, but the seats were actually a bit narrow. I'm only 5'9", but I have broad shoulders and I felt a bit pinched even in their business class seats.

Yes. Flying international, or cross country business class is fine. United has those pod seats that are cool. Not sure what you get more in first class, except thousands more in price.

Domestic flights typically don't have a business class, except cross country. Their first class is just more leg room. But not all that expensive. I will usually upgrade unless the flight is really short.

We always fly first class. We flew international business class to London just prior to the pandemic - with the cubicles with our own TV and seat that went down to lay flat. It was very nice. Almost embarrassing. When we were at Heathrow, we were in a line and the Mrs. asked some woman where we were to go - and the woman looked at our ticket, got excited and marched us all the way to the front to a private counter and we were through in 5 mins - as everyone glared at us. We have global entry so we were through in 2 minutes. Almost embarrassing - almost.
