I would expect the heat would destroy the active chemical ingredients in the Nyquil.

It is almost all
Acetaminophen = about 2/3rds of a Tylenol
Doxylamine Succinate = (Antihistamine) 1/2 the dosage of a OTC sleeping pill
Dextromethorphan (Cough Suppresant) Normal dose for 4 hours

10% Alcohol is just to dissolve the components

I have to wonder if the sleepiness effect isn't just from basically doing multiple shots of Nyquil.

I can barely swallow a full dose of Nyquil, I can't imagine eating chicken that's been cooked in it, the thought makes me feel like vomiting.
