But many of the reasons hardly matter if they watch TV in America or go to the movies. Sex is always at the top of banned list but teenage boys knew that. Girls you'll have to speak for yourself. The hard question is how much does it matter? It may matter lots if it makes you think. Do books make bad people? I kinda doubt it, but it may depend on the person. Your thoughts.

"The great artists of the world are never Puritans, and seldom even ordinarily respectable. No virtuous man 'that is, virtuous in the Y.M.C.A. sense' has ever painted a picture worth looking at, or written a symphony worth hearing, or a book worth reading." H. L. Mencken
I remember in high school our History class was assigned a book called "The Naked Ape" with the warning that the board did not wnat us to read the chapter on sexuality. Pretty sure we all read that chapter that night although it wasn't really what bwe bargained for,.
Same book probably not appropriate in a very religious school or in any middle school. Some books do not belong in school libraries, and not all schools are the same. especially those of a middle school. But many call that book banning.

As is usually the case, the alt-right misses the point and then politized it. But glad some checked out the links etc. Reading will set you free thus the controversy.

Almost all of your commentary attacks conservatives. lol

What is the "alt-right"? What does that mean? Run to The Atlantic and find out.

The alt-right, hijacked by Richerd Spence, who hates the right, proclaims he's a socialist, and came out for Biden against Trump, seems an ally right up your alley.

Yet some of the banned books are banned because of the left wing being offended by them like To Kill a Mockingbird.
When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.

When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.

And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.

    War is peace.

    Freedom is slavery.

    Ignorance is strength.

    Keep the young uns guessing.

It increases the possibility but not the probability they will perform or commit a nefarious act that is actually 80% their own fault as opposed to being a 100% reflection of poor parenting (typically a product themselves of poor parenting. )

Only the parent who has a family history of toxic genetics, contradictions , abandonment issues including being the one who abandoned and lets mention the lesser abuse which is often the physical abuse confirm, deny or neither?

That is the question that answers itself

Bruises heal, emotion scars are self defining "scars". Scars also create additional scars of their own

The last time myeloved hero of a.father said.to me." Do as I do not as I say " I politely looked him square in the eye and said." Fuk off"

    I loved him a lot.
He was a reminder that there can only be one perfect household member and when properly weaponized as a tool of destroying at least part of the family be sure to frequently remind your victim that there is also only one imperfect member

    Dad understood me
It was his understanding of self tha was possibly the most problematic

If the "self understanding" angle never became an issue he even knew existed or unaddressed by him he was not as intelligent as I need to believe he was

He was a master of manipulation

His secret? He gave you the space , time, means to manipulate your own behaviors into better ones

By knowing a child is unlikely to do as such he offered you HIS solutions to the very issues he allowed you to create so he could " save " you from yourself, the devil or other villian

Which "point" ? The one about you being highly biased as a poster etc?

Keep up the good work Mr Poppins.

Oddly enough it is i who realizes you are your own worst enemy and that you limit your own quest for knowledge as a result.

'To Kill a Mockingbird' has been banned by various school authorities around the country for many years and for several different reasons. Yes, the use of the N-word in the book triggers some who dislike to see it even when it is used in a dramatic or historical context, and more recently those who interpret the story as an example of something called "White saviorhood". However other strong language and especially the matter of the off-stage rape have caused it to be deemed inappropriate by folks opposed to swearing in general, and those who confuse rape with sexuality and don't want any mention of it, even in an important book that challenges racial hatred and injustice. Those people tend not to represent the views of the Left.
