While I agree that some things Trump has done, and the blind loyalty of his cultists, could be seen as traitorous, I don’t think this kind of violent hyperbole is acceptable. Some Trump supporters may describe Democrats and liberals in general as literal enemies. But sinking to that level only helps their cause.

Unfortunately, some Trump supporters actually believe Trump is a patriot and that they are defending their country from evil forces. As delusional as that is, we shouldn’t sink to their level of hatred and vitriol. As gullible as they are, they’re ultimately victims of a conman and people who truly think they’re right.

Here's why: the first person executed in the United States for treason (against the Commonwealth of Virginia) was the abolitionist, John Brown, for raiding the Federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry, VA. So what are you trying to say here? Aaron Stevens was also an abolitionist and hung for treason against Virginia. Max Stephan was sentenced to die for harboring a Luftwaffe pilot, but FDR commuted his sentence. Countless others were charged with treason, sentenced to die, and had their sentences reduced or commuted during WWII. So are you saying the US was only great when the Democrats were hanging abolitionists? I can't find any other executions for treason off hand. The Rosenbergs were executed for espionage.
