As I've mentioned before, the house is a shack falling down around our ears, but the view and sunrises are what it's all about....

That's a priceless view. My last house was like that. It was in such disrepair, but my property was like a heaven realm paradise in the woods. It was completely wooded and the sound of birds was amazing. The deer would raise their babies there. At some point I realized I wasn't well enough to fix the house and decided to sell it and try for a house that was smaller and in better condition.

It worked out, I ended up finding a better house in the area that I had really wanted to live in. There were trade offs my property is small and I lost a lot of my privacy going from a secluded house in the woods to a community in the woods. But the trade off is good. I don't live on a lake like you but there is a lake just behind my house. I can hear the raven calls echoing off the mountain sides. In just a few minutes I can be at the lake. The one downside is that the people who owned this property before me cut all the trees down. But It's all good because everyone else here has trees. It was a good trade in the end. I feel like I'm where I want to be.

I was able to capture this sunrise at 6:30 this morning, since I'd been up since 5 with a migraine......I just happened to look out and saw it, I thought it looked pretty!

You omitted the other half which is

It is a shack.

Had planned to tear it down and rebuilding within a year of moving into it, in 2000. We are still living in it.

I'm not about big and fancy. Reasonable and comfortable, clean and simple. I'll likely be dead by then.
