I get it, I hate wasting anything too. I usually have a job box and other tools in the bed of my truck, so I'll spread a tarp in my little aluminum carry on trailer for dirt or mulch. I would really like to have a dump trailer, but I don't have an extra 5 to 7 grand laying around, lol. I squeeze every last bit of toothpaste from the tube. I roll it from the bottom, and keep a binder clip on it, lol.
Last time I got top soil, I bought a couple of these, very convenient to haul. https://www.kurtz-bros.com/Super-Soil-SuperSack

Our truck was bought to be a work truck, we pull a horse trailer, utility trailer with a tractor on it, hay, fire wood and, anything else we need to haul or, tow.
My son bought a GMC Denali, he hauls one of those gigantic 5th wheels with it, I doubt it does anything else, probably never leaves the pavement.

Holy cow! They would be holding a wee bit of compost!
I get to play on a Bobcat with all sorts of fun attachments. We have equipment trailers, a dump-bed 2000 Ford F350(?), assorted other trailers. Too many, to be honest, but when needed great to have.
In past years, we go to the Monterey Mushroom Farm in Loudon TN for their 'used' compost. That stuff is terrific for the veggies. But, in 2022 they weren't selling it retail, wholesale only. I guess to limit the number of people traipsing through their fields. Hope they open back up again. We used a low trailer with a tarp, top and bottom for that trip.
