One of those grill islands has been a plan of mine for years, I have the location picked out, for a walled courtyard, complete with BBQ island but, for whatever reason, it hasn't been built. .......this goes back 20 years.......I suppose as long as I'm still alive, there's still hope.

I bought a Cuisinart Propane "Griddle" last year. This one.

I used it a total of two times last year--once to make pancakes, and the other time to grill Reubens.

We don't eat meat so I don't really have much use for it. I should think of something to make on it--at least once this year. Or, I should give it away.
    How about pizza?

A good pizza stone ... ALWAYS place it on a cold grill and THEN turn the grill on, unless you like cleaning shards of pizza stone ... is a key piece of grill equipment and will make an outstanding pizza.

I've considered the foxed position grill several times but have always went with a roll around. The reason is that a fixed position grill limits your patio usage till the end of time.

I've taken the WEBER up the street to the church neighborhood fest, tried multiple backyard locations and moved one from one house to another without disassembly.

I'm not trying to discourage you from what you want, but think through the positioning of a built in carefully.

99% +/- of the time its the 2 of us so we really have more grill than we need ... but nobody ever regrets having too much power.

The reason we went with the GENESIS is that:

    - It is large enough to grill a pizza, rack of lamb and other larger items when needed.
    - US assembled of a lot of US parts.
    - Reliability.
    - Capability.
