I noticed that too. LOL
As far as context goes, I'd like to hear what the make-believe slaves at auction have to say.
They seemed quite happy to be taking part.
I'm not a fan of competitive sports anyway, but I think the school could have used the incident for a teaching moment rather than punishing the kids.
Seems like a bit of trumped-up outrage.

You missed the point of my post, Chris. Had a mock slave auction been conducted under a lesson plan formulated to emphasize the evils of human slavery and to remind White people how awful they've always been, that would have been very much in the wheelhouse of a CRT promoter. That the school superintendent found it "unacceptable" relates not to what was done, but the spirit in which it was done and who thought of doing it. A school teacher no doubt would have followed up the slave auction part of the lesson plan with what they considered to be some modern-day equivalents - like the overrepresentation of Black men in prisons, or (allegedly) in U.S. combat fatalities - in order to "teach" their students that nothing had really changed and that Black people were still being enslaved.

But that's not what CRT is about. It is not about teaching the facts of history.
When superintendent of Yuba City Unified School District Doreen Osumi "said though students may have thought the “skit was funny,” it was "unacceptable" and required reflection on systemic racism," now we're getting into CRT territory.
