…The coach of the national soccer team has been paid by American taxpayers to represent his country (if he's American) to the rest of the world. He gets all his expenses for food, lodging and travel -plus a generous salary- but instead of celebrating his country and meal ticket decides to wear a shirt just saying "STATES"? What a schmuck!….

If that's the case how's everything there? Are those 1000 illegals arriving there each day, and staying in expensive hotels, effecting you at all? Or is that more of an England problem? This would make an interesting thread.

The federal government provides some funding for travel, training and subsistence while in competition. The federal government also provides funding to cover the cost of various matches across the country.

If I had my way, all federal funding would be eliminated.
