That is cool. I've only seen one in the wild one time at the lake. They're impressive. So glad we didn't go with the wild turkey as the national bird.

They are so amazing. We're getting more migrating back to our area. I'd love to get a photo one of these days.

I've talked about it before, we are very fortunate that there is a Raptor Center maybe 35-40 miles away, and those that have rehabbed are quite often released at the lake we live on.

We have at least one breeding pair that fish on our cove, a youngster (no white yet) being taught how to skim the water and catch a fish, and they will ride the air currents on a breezy day.

Even after all these years, it never ceases to amaze me.

I wonder if the small game in the area share our enthusiasm?

It's amazing that that this wildlife is just moving back into areas, we thought they left. Here at the crowded beach area we have coyotes, foxes, large hawks...all finding plenty of food.
    Let's go Brandon !!!

I'm sure the small critters don't have the enthusiasm lol.

I've seen a hawk take a rabbit in an open field, I've seen the grizzly remains of a fawn that something took down. I found a half-buried hawk in a side garden one morning. Nature isn't always pretty, but in general, she balances herself out one way or another.

I was deployed up to Adak, Alaska many years ago, and I remember watching the bald eagles - both the adults and the juveniles, who don't yet have the white head and tail feathers - scavenging in the dumpsters behind the barracks. I must say they didn't look all that majestic doing that, but then hardly anyone looks their best while eating.

Here they are getting to be like crows. They’re all over the place.
