I stayed a week visiting a pilot friend at Zephyrhills drop zone. Day before I got there, they had a 'bouncer' (chute failure). During my stay, two jumpers 'down planed' together, and one caught his foot while separating and shattered his ankle and tibia.

Unless the plane is in imminent danger of a high speed impact with a solid object, I am not voluntarily leaving it.

I have a friend who had skydiving on his bucket list. He did a tandem jump with the instructor and when he landed shattered both his ankles and spent weeks in the hospital.

Something went wrong if you break a bone skydiving. And the instructor is at fault.

In military static line jump, nothing has to go wrong for bones to snap.

You can break an ankle. That’s not uncommon.

33 yrs here. Only static line. I wish I had the chance to jump from a helicopter before I got out.

Ive only jumped static line in the Army.
