Wait, what happened to the blue wave?
"Look into my eyes - I guarantee you - I guarantee you we are going to end fossil fuels" - Joe Biden
This is why you can't take these people seriously. If the Republicans did not do good because they did not win the senate then the democrats did not do good for losing the house.
RIP Uncle Bosey
A great first officer but an even better second course.
While no one is denying that Republicans are taking the House, it is a victory for the Democrats in a sense. Historically speaking, the party in power typically loses seats in mid term elections. Particularly when there are economic issues. Republicans were predicting a red wave that never happened. So while Democrats knew they would lose seats, the massive blowout that was predicted never happened.

As I said, in some ways it was a victory.
Democrats never claimed a blue wave was coming or has happened. Republicans and many experts were expecting a major victory for Republicans. The fact that it never happened was a huge positive for Democrats and most Republicans admit that it was essentially a defeat for Republicans, and specifically Trumpism. Most candidates that were outspoken Trump supporters lost their election bids. Trump himself has lashed out at Republican leaders for vastly underperforming in the midterms.
