These random gun attacks could be targeting everyone (like Islamic Jihad) or motivated against certain activities or groups, but nobody can know for sure. How about the people who go "Postal" on co-workers and that can also happen just about anywhere at anytime. Try living in certain parts of Chicago or Detroit and know what a real threat is like that the left media ignore for obvious reasons. Hate Crime is nothing more than the slow boil of protected class social justice.

As to motives that has and always been and should be a sentencing problem for a Judge and Jury to consider. That is why we have maximums and I see no point in giving potential death penalty suspects a Hate Crime label other than a feel good that accomplishes nothing else.
