He took this job knowing that it isn't cashier at K-mart or middle manager at some finance firm. This job has national level responsibilities. Important ones. You don't take a job like that and immediately go on Maternity. Even if you are a woman and actually gave birth.
So many of our problems involve demanding rights and inclusion while ditching the responsibilities that come with it.
