I am still waiting for someone to explain to me why an employee should be paid for not working? If he is out "sick", is he producing anything for you?

One example would be the flu or a cold. Does it serve the business better to have the employee come in to work and potentially spread the virus?

The OP mentioned some dental issue. If that could have been resolved early with say 2 hours of sick leave, would that be better than letting it get worse and missing say 2 days later?

of conservatives is angry over this. The Union rank and file which voted this down are not happy. either.
