Beginning of the End of Christianity?

I haven't read any articles saying Christianity or religion (overall) was growing--at least not in first-world nations, but the point I got from the OP was that the past few years showed an even steeper than normal decline. Some of that could be due to Covid and I supposed there could still be a slight rebound.

But, I think religion is starting to die at a quicker pace. Religious faith was very strong when man's knowledge was scant. Even the Amish are seeing more of their children leave their homes and join the rest of the worldly humans.

I did read recently about a southern church that got creative and started combining church with gardening, and they drew a few additional members that way. But, unless churches can entice young families to join them, I think the handwriting is on the wall. In another decade, the largest group of the faithful practitioners -- the Baby Boomers -- will start dying off or become too infirm to attend, and no one's stepping up to fill their shoes. Whatever drew our parents to church isn't relevant anymore.

I really have no clue why Islam is growing--fad, perhaps? I don't know but yes, our descendants could marry them. Who knows? Hopefully that entire religion will moderate before that.

That's because you aren't looking for them. Yes, religion is declining among Westerners. Oddly enough, our numbers are declining too.

It has nothing to do with knowledge.

Christianity and Islam are both growing globally. There are projected to be over 3 billion Christians by 2050 and over 2 billion Muslims by 2030. But, yeah, it's all a fad. Sure. Go with that.

The future belong to the faithful. People like you will be a curiosity.

There was a lot of that being done in the '70s. "The Way: The Living Bible" came out in 1972, and it may even still be in print. I know I see copies of it on the thrift store bookshelves occasionally. Others were published, too, but that was the most popular. Of course large parts of the Evangelical community lost its collective mind, alleging subversive (or worse, Satanic) influences in the wording. I have met folks who claimed that the King James Version was the only one God approves of.

There are various versions of the NIV that are pretty accessible.

The KJV was a rough translation. As more papyri we're found, the translations got better.

Christianity and religion in general is growing. Secular societies, which have fallen in love with death, are shrinking. The future belongs to the faithful and your female descendants may very well find themselves married to Muslim men. Good job.
