    LOL

I think I just have the standard model. It's a Rad Power. It's okay, but my husband didn't really consider when he bought it that we live in the country and it's really designed for paved streets, I think. I took the battery out about a month ago and brought it in for the winter. Frigid temps wreak havoc on lithium-ion batteries.

But, it's decently fast--I can go as fast as I go at top speed on my regular bike.

I think of it as a super-quiet, not-too-powerful little sister of the motorcycle. It's a $#@! to pedal when the battery runs down, though. Sheesh, it's easier to walk it at that point. Plus, it's heavy. I can lift my Trex up the stairs easily. The Rad weighs over 100 pounds so it lives in the garage.

I have been looking at them pretty hard lately and am going to buy at least one for T&E to use as a patrol vehicle for the town parks and for use at concerts and other outdoor events. The one I am looking at hardest is the Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra Beast. The other one I am considering is the Addmotor 5600. The Addmotor is generally considered the monster truck of E Bikes, but the Bixtrix is also a real brute of a bike and has a longer range than the Addmotor, although the range of the Addmotor is more than sufficient for its intended use.

Since right now, we are lucky if the daytime high temperature breaks 20 degrees, I will probably hold off until Spring to take the plunge.

Those look like good bikes. Heavier-duty than mine. My battery goes quite a ways before I need to recharge. You can either recharge while the battery is in the bike, or remove it to recharge. I just take it out--via key--and charge it overnight inside. I could see one being good for patrolling an outdoor event -- they're soundless. Nothing to disturb the event or let someone know you're sneaking up behind them.

I love riding bikes -- my real bike at least.

Electric bikes are all about getting around without breaking a sweat.

Those electric scooters are out there too. Fat kids causing a hazard on the side walk.

In our community, they're not supposed to ride bikes or scooters on the sidewalks, but it happens all the time.

Most E-Bikes have what is called a "Pedal Assist" mode. You ride it like you would a regular bike and use the electric drive when you need it... a burst of speed or steep incline. One of the two I am looking at is capable of a top speed of 35 MPH, something you would never achieve on a standard Mountain Bike.
