Getting used to our semi-retirement place

We considered buying a piece of land in the Okeechobee area. We nixed it and are now considering either the panhandle or Texas gulf coast.

I like the Florida panhandle area.

Between the panhandle and the Texas coast, it would be a toss up. But the panhandle has more civilization in Panama City and West + nicer beaches. South of Corpus has some real slow living and nice small towns, but I would need to have a boat there.

I have been to a lot of beaches around the world, and the panhandle has some of the best- beaches, not clear water.

I think I'd like to slow down a bit but not completely retire. The problem is that in my business 10 hours a week quickly becomes 60.

I never want to retire. Fortunately, that's still a ways off, but every person I've seen who retired, started going downhill quickly after they did.
