Well, they complain about the pick-up and we mocked the Prius and that car that looked like a handbag, What was it, the G-Wiz? Your knees were the crumple zone. At least in pick-ups you never have to choose between the lights and the wipers.
The thread started out that way, but it wasn't more than two or three posts in when suddenly we begin hearing about how "leftists" are trying to ban trucks, etc....although it's funny, I don't recall anything in the article cited in the OP about banning anything or truck owners being racists, or anything whatsoever along those lines. As I noted before, it only takes someone mentioning that something is dangerous, whether it's pickup trucks, pro football or Arby's roast beef, to trigger the "They're coming for my (fill in the blank)" crowd.

Where do you get the idea from the Axios article that it is representing a leftist attempt to control anyone? Statistics have no political side. The author is simply making an observation regarding the fact that pickup trucks have increased in size over the years and that larger vehicles may present additional hazards. The article also mentioned:
"The other side:
Ford says "safety is a top priority," and points to safety-related technologies such as pedestrian detection sensors, automatic emergency braking, 360-degree cameras, and more, some of which now come standard.
The 2022 F-150 earned a "top safety pick" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and earned "good" or "superior" ratings in various crash tests, including those with other vehicles, and with child and adult pedestrians."
Axios is not a leftist paper. It is considered moderate.
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

Yeah, we just had a Bad Dream about all this slow boil attempt to control what we can buy and use in our daily lives like a gas stove, football, non-electric vehicles, and a BBQ. I mean nobody wants to be unsafe or offensive?
And about that Bridge I want to sell you!
Do you really "imagine" everybody is this Stupid?
