Two elderly British gentlemen, having a drink at their club.

"Oh, I say, I heard you buried your wife last month."

"Yes, had to." (long pause) "Dead, you know."

Yes they do, if they catch them. Sort of like the tractor-trailer issue in the left lane. I-40 is a 6 lane. It is posted from Knoxville to the I-40/I-81 split No Trucks In Left Lane. And there are some hard pull hills as you get near Exit 412. And into the left lane pops a tractor trailer, in a 70 MPH zone, trying to pull the hill at 55 and dropping.... they were getting rather flagrant about it, until THP started pulling them over a couple of weeks back, and they suddenly aren't going into the left lane.

The good news - oh, yeah, this is a good news thread - is that she's getting better every day, less pain every day, and she's in a great facility ten minutes from the house. This is a determined woman, and there's no stopping her, so I'm not too worried about her ability to overcome this. Three days before her surgery she was out in the front yard five or six hours a day digging an 8' by 3' extension to her fish pond. I gave up trying to get her to take it easy thirty years ago.
A couple of things going on, but spinal stenosis caused by a degenerative disk, pinching nerves and pressing on the spinal column. Combination of discectomy and 'unsnagging' a pinched nerve that was causing extreme pain down the left leg. There were other things that will need addressing someday down the road, but that was the immediate need.

I understand your wife's state of mind re the pond. The idea that something you enjoy may be taken away from you, albeit temporarily, you have the urge to make sure some of it gets done. I didn't have to do the rehab, thankfully, just some basic exercises to rebuild my back strength.

I'm glad it went well for you. My son had the same thing and he was great after the surgery for about a week ... and then he wasn't. Very disappointing.

All the best to her. She sounds like she's the type who will overcome this quickly.

I was in Miami doing a export trade show, when I left the newscasters on the radio were laughing.

Apparently they had two cars shooting at each other going down the Interstate on the way to work that morning.
That is not unusual in Miami. But apparently they got out of work and ran across each other again because two cars matching the same descriptions were reported shooting at each other in rush hour traffic on the way home.
    Let's go Brandon !!!
