If a company can increase its profits by lowering its prices and thereby increasing sales I think this will ultimately prevail.
As a consumer you can lower your tax burden by simply not buying the most expensive item on the shelf or buying anything at all.
Taxes to the government should increase because now everyone who purchases anything will be subject to the taxes. The drug dealer making millions of untaxed dollars will be forced to contribute every time they make a purchase of any item for any reason.
Neal Boortz book "The Fair Tax" spells out why the fair tax is a much improved method for everyone and will lead to a tremendous upswing in the economy. With the fair tax if you earn $1000.00 a week your paycheck will be $1000.00 a week, not the $650.00 per week after taxes. You can now control how much of that $350.00 per week you actually get to retain.
The biggest con job ever pulled on the working man is the concept of "payroll deduction" which makes it seem its your employer and not the government that is reducing your paycheck.
