    Bull$#@!!!!!
He stopped $#@! studies, no AA studies.

This is what needs to be stopped:
According to those teachers, based on questionable activist-influenced studies, what is best is promoting secret social transitions that put children on the path to irreversible hormone and surgical treatments. Parents are painted as enemies of their children’s true identities because they may not provide a “safe space” for them to be their “authentic” selves. These schools aren’t just hiding students’ mental health problems from their parents — they are encouraging children to view their parents as obstacles to avoid.
Schools are villainizing parents to encourage gender transitions for children (msn.com)

But I assume from your stance, that this is just fine with you............as usual, you're $#@!ing about the wrong thing

And here is the problem with the left, They have NO truth in them. And are willing to do anything and say anything to achieve the perversions and power that they seek!

DeSantis did not ban the course, he said that in it's current form it was not history. But Indoctrination

As you can see below it seeks to divide the country by race, and try and convince those that would take the course that the deck is stacked against people based on color. Seeks to teach LGBTQ moral values and Socialism over capitalism.

This was the problem. But the left will continue the lie of Racism!

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis reiterated Monday the state’s rejection of a proposed nationwide advanced African American studies course, saying it pushes a political agenda — something three authors cited in the state’s criticism accused him of doing in return.
DeSantis said his administration rejected the College Board’s Advanced Placement African American Studies course because “we want education, not indoctrination.” It was revealed last week that the Florida Department of Education recently told the College Board it would bar the course unless changes are made.
The state then issued a chart late Friday that says the course promotes the idea that modern American society oppresses Black people, other minorities and women, includes a chapter on “Black $#@! Studies” that the administration finds inappropriate, and uses articles by critics of capitalism.

The OP is an example of the legacy media not practicing journalism, but rather passing off its agenda as news.

Florida law requires African American history to be included and it is. What DeSantos has gone after is not African American history / writers, but rather neo Marxism written by black writers.

I need to see a curriculum before I can judge whether the class is appropriate or not.

It's an AP class so it would be an elective, not required.

I don't see an issue with teaching a black history class -- as long as it sticks to facts and doesn't get into trying to push a social agenda.

Realistically, it should probably be up to local school boards whether they want to adopt any sort of elective courses or not adopt them. It seems odd that a governor would try to take that power away. Perhaps the parents in one district would want the class while the parents in another district wouldn't.

I'm not a DeSantis fan, and this does nothing to elevate him in my opinion. He needs to butt out and let individual districts decide. This isn't Nazi Germany, after all.

CRT is illegal to include as part of the curriculum in Florida schools, as it should be. The governor has every right, and it is his duty to uphold state law.

    Okay, I found the curriculum:

    https://s3.documentcloud.org/documen...-watermark.pdf

It doesn't appear to include any homosexual studies, and the only mention of "gender" is the way it relates to black women and their experiences as slaves and early citizens.

I just scanned it so it's possible I missed something, although I don't think I missed anything objectionable.

DeSantis needs to crawl back in his hole and let parents of their districts desicd.

DeSantis is very clearly an enemy of public education. I’m just glad that my daughter will be graduating from the University of Florida in May (before DeSantis can ruin its reputation) and can get out of that hellhole a state.

It is in the Section 4-19 that it looks like critical race theory comes in to play. Unlike those on the left have tried to portray DeSantis is not rejecting the teaching of an AP course which will carry college credit to the students.

He is targeting those items that are not allowed to be taught in FL schools because the people decided against indoctrination Once these few areas are removed the course will be accepted by the state and the class can move forward.
