I mean it's possible and it will surely happen in some highly determined cases, but it's the scale of probabilities that we're negotiating here. The fact is that introducing these kinds of barriers is pretty certain to ultimately reduce under-aged traffic to pornographic sites in the state of Louisiana to a fraction of its prior levels.
I have to agree with Ethereal on this one. This is not something a state can block even though we may wish they could.

I remember my friend complaining that he put all the blocks in and then found out the kids were logging in through Yahoo Mexico when that want an option.

Likewise they will use a VPN or something like TOR that is available for free.

So "A" for effort but "D" for results.

Of course you do. Otherwise that would mean agreeing with me.

How many people do you know who even know what VPNs are?

The ask here is much greater than the current ask.

Polly, I like you and your style even if we do not agree sometimes. But I'm the hippie that married the cheerleader, so I never sought agreement.

The kids know a lot more than most of us do about the internet. When the question was asked about VPN's the other day then you would be surprised at the number of old retired guys using one here.

So, requiring parental consent for birth control is bad. Restricting access to porn is good. That totally makes sense.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Well not all porn is created equal. If the 16 year old works around the filter to get his hands on a playboy mak, meh not the end of the world. But there is some vile $#@! out there. Porn is resricted ago wise in person, why not online?

You can't stop internet traffic at a state line. Would you want your corrupt NY government whitelisting what you could find in a search and then requiring that they use a specific carrier for the internet?
