I think it's more than hypothetical. Especially if we were to redefine what a wormhole could be. We already use the curvature of space time to slingshot our craft into space. We also know that everything in the universe is connected by magnetism, it is plausible that we could ride these lines as a means of space travel. These could potentially give us a warp type speed that we could use to traverse the cosmos.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

What does ‘warp type speed’ mean?

hundreds of times the speed of light.

Warp factor five is 125x the speed of light or 83,827,078,673mph

Because we can't physically see it with our unaided senses, that doesn't mean that it isn't there - or that it can't be reached. Even in terms of the three dimensions with which we're most familiar, there are limits to what we can see, let alone what we're able to physically reach. Take "height". Our ability to see in that dimension is severely limited, and to reach it even more so. The human eye can see a plane passing over at roughly 30,000 feet or about 5.7 miles, but can only see the stars and other astronomical objects when they either emit or reflect light. Similarly, different points within the dimension of Time may only be visible under certain circumstances - either when particular conditions exist, or when some artificial aid to perception is employed.

You are, again, arguing against the laws of physics and the greatest minds from Einstein forward.
The past, and future, are by all known science unreachable.
The arrow of time points in only one direction.
The second law of thermodynamics states that entropy ... disorder ... of a serious magnitude increases with time. Traveling into the future would reverse entropy.
Also, if the past and present both do exist ... then we live in eternalism, or a block universe.
