Try this go to the botton all the way to the left, theres a small windows icon on the taskbar. Go to control panel, go down and click TaskBar and navigation, it should be in there

But for the task bar option there does not seem to be a good one since the recent updates eliminated it. I saw some retro style apps but the reviews seem to have sizing bugs that make you lose full screen.
Same here. Eventually they'll force it on us.

    Why?

it is more stable, more user friendly and can run Windows if you have a program that isn't available on another platform.

Because it is the Apple Way or the highway. I want control, not them. That is why my choice is now Linux. I use Open Office so I can go between Microsoft and Linux easily. Microsoft is only for work and compatibility with my Windows Server at work and my SAGE business software and now add my new remote VPN secure access.

I have a friend that has an audio visual company and he loves apple. He hates doing work for Microsoft because they make him use MS programs and computers.

I got a new laptop for Christmas, and it has Windows 11 because that's all you can get. My old laptop is the last of Windows 7, and since (semi) retirement is coming fast, I may be remoting in and the old laptop is tired and cranky.

I'll note the suggestions to fix the taskbar issue, and I let you know which work.

Windows 7 is unsupported and anyone who uses it still today is literally a moron asking to be hacked! Same goes for XP, both are dead o/s's and shouldn't be used by anyone anymore.

Windows 10 is literally the same as 7 except for much more stable, faster imo, and will be supported security wise for some years to come. I understand some like the UI Aero look in windows 7 but that is not worth the security vulnerabilities it now has being at it's end of life with Microsoft.

To those that have auto update on and don't like windows forcing updates on you turn that option off, problem fixed. Most people don't seem to want to take the time to look and see the many tricks and tips with windows 10 and just like to bash it when it has without a doubt been Window's best and most stable O/S they have ever made imo. I have not used 11 yet but my guess it is more or less a reskinned version of 10 with a few new features added in.
