To an extent. Doing things that you should know makes you a target for the criminal element isn't wise. It's like traveling to many destinations in the world. They tell you not to wear expensive jewelry and other things that will make you a target. I'm sure walking around NYC or any major city with $1K+ phones in your hand also results in them being snatched by enterprising thieves on bikes and skateboards. Thieves always know the market value of expensive items and these headphones are as easy to steal as a hat, and the best part is that the victim will never hear you coming because they are deliberately interfering with their own situational awareness.
