Don't fret over the scale. Assuming its accurate, assuming its consistent (if inaccurate), your body is going to fluctuate over the day(s). If you use a scale pick one day and one time of day and focus on that number and how it changes. Best time in the morning after you take a dump.

And just look in the mirror.

I want to return to 185 pounds, my weight when I retired from the Army.

Now that the work on my house is finished I can work out on my cross-trainer 30 minutes a day. I can walk five miles every other day.

I know I will need to return to weight-lifting.

Oh, I suppose I should drink way less wine. Darn.
Ambitious plan, good luck. I've been loosing weight largely through frequent walking, but a bad ankle has sidelined me for the moment

I used to golf with a guy that looked much better after his heart attack than before. That was because he quit during, stopped smoking , parked the golf cart and walked

Actually, I watch religiously what I eat and rare eat more than one full meal a day, usually around 3:00 PM. I also walk my two Jack Russells about a half mile each day (no more on orders of my cardiologist). The two Jacks are on a split leash and sometimes they are pulling so hard I think I am practicing for the Iditarod!

I know people who eat one meal. I can't do that.

I eat three full meals and three planned snacks. About 2900-3100 calories a day. And that isn't easy to do when you are only eating "real" food.

I used to use a tape measure to judge my weight loss. The scale fluctuates. If you gain muscle you might gain weight, but slim down since muscle weighs more than fat. Then there is this strange thing that happens right before you drop some weight is that your cells fill with water and you look and feel fatter but then your cells release that water and boom you drop several pounds at once. It's tricky business.

I did that for about 10 years. It was tough.

    That works too.

There is a waist measurement method that is better than BMI at judging general health. 35" women and 40" men are the danger points for heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
