    My grandfather wrote an Indian motorcycle in the early '20s. I have photos of him with other members of the club, his leather "helmet" and fur-trimmed goggles and some medals (that are actually watch fobs, I recently discovered) that he was given for participating in some early Gypsy Tours - the original biker rallies. I'd sure give a lot to have his bike, though, even though I'm not a rider myself. As he told the story, the woman who was to become my grandmother gave him a choice - her or the bike, and he rode away and was gone for a couple of months thinking it over.

    Ultimatums don't usually work out well for those who issue them. Glad this one worked out, eventually.
