I've never had a problem but you do have to uncheck that box 'retrieve remote file and reference locally.' The box used to always be unchecked and then I had a few problems until I realized that you have to manually uncheck it now.

My picture was taken a few years back, in October of 2014. Venice wasn't having low tide issues back then. October is the beginning of 'acqua alta' or the high water season that runs from October to March, which makes the current low tide issues all the more alarming, since they are occurring during the high water season. Hopefully, these low tide issues resolve before summer and the major tourist season.
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

That's actually also overcomplated, and usually unnecessary. The software here allows you to copy an image from the internet, and paste it directly into your post. Right click image, select "copy image", and paste it directly into your post. The only caveat is, this only works from a computer, it won't work on a smart phone.

I'm not uploading images from files on my computer. I do a screen cap copy and paste to https://snipboard.io/ and it gives me a URL to put between IMG tags. That's the same process as copying the URL and letting the forum copy it and put it in IMG tags. Not sure why anyone would first download an image to their computer.
By doing this I have access to all those images for reuse:
Not sure the forum allows this.
