That will usually work but not always as some sites will block access to images.

I've never had a problem but you do have to uncheck that box 'retrieve remote file and reference locally.' The box used to always be unchecked and then I had a few problems until I realized that you have to manually uncheck it now.

Ah, ok, that's work because it copies it to the forum.

October is the beginning of 'acqua alta' or the high water season that runs from October to March, which makes the current low tide issues all the more alarming, since they are occurring during the high water season. Hopefully, these low tide issues resolve before summer and the major tourist season.

You are uploading your pics to an internet based location, then using this sites "from URL" function. Right?

Right, it's basically the same process.

It's not at all the same process as choosing a file from your computer, and uploading it here. I don't want or need to upload images anywhere else first.

That's actually also overcomplated, and usually unnecessary. The software here allows you to copy an image from the internet, and paste it directly into your post. Right click image, select "copy image", and paste it directly into your post. The only caveat is, this only works from a computer, it won't work on a smart phone.

I'm not uploading images from files on my computer. I do a screen cap copy and paste to https://snipboard.io/ and it gives me a URL to put between IMG tags. That's the same process as copying the URL and letting the forum copy it and put it in IMG tags. Not sure why anyone would first download an image to their computer.

By doing this I have access to all those images for reuse:

Not sure the forum allows this.

I'm not talking about images from the internet, I'm talking about personal pics. If you're talking about images from the internet, all you have to do is right click an image, hit "copy image", then paste it into your post.
