How to stop the flow of drugs into our country

I am beginning, more and more, to agree with Ted Cruz: Since the Mexican president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, is clearly unwilling to help stymie the flow of drugs into this country, we should take matters into our own hands, and send the US military into Mexico, either with or without its permission, to destroy these drug cartels.

As to anyone who might claim that this would be an act of war, I would reply: Mexico is already committing an act of war against the US.

Our CIA has been drug smuggling them into the US for years. If our government wanted to stop it, they would have years ago,

You support yet another ill-conceived military intervention based on a ridiculous and fraudulent premise?

    I'm shocked.

The US government sanctions the sale of all sorts of legal drugs which kill countless Americans every year. I'm still waiting for someone to explain why it's okay for thousands of Americans to die from smoking or drinking, but it's not okay for them to die from pain killers. According to the twisted logic of the OP, Budweiser has been waging war on America for decades.

    I am unfamiliar with this.

Could you verify this (from a neutral source) please?

My cousin was an Airforce fighter pilot in the V nam war. He watched the CIA bring in load of drugs on cargo planes. But they want to go to war with Mexico.

The precursor to the CIA (OSS) started working with the mafia during WWII. The distinction between intelligence agencies and organized crime was blurred a long time ago.

Whenever Republicans encounter a problem they don't know how to solve, their first instinct is to resort to violence.
