    Ever eat pumpkin blossoms? They're prepared like fried green tomatoes, and taste a lot like them too. A seasonal treat, kind of like morels, but not that good.

    I'm thinking along the lines of fried green tomatoes. I turned my nose up at those until my mother-in-law made some. Wow! They were good.

    I'm not a big fan of kale chips, though. I can't get past the aftertaste.

    What I can't remember is whether she coated the slices with anything - like flour, maybe. Someone who does a lot of cooking would probably be able to figure it out. I do recall she fried them in some kind of oil, and then spread them out on paper towels to cool down a bit and let the paper towels absorb the excess oil.
