    My university wasn't like that. It even had a real free speech zone where people could spot off about whatever they wanted. I spent my time in the gym instead. And the professorships were shifting way left then, but they were still respectful of other views- except for granting new professor jobs.

    There's the thing. What happened to behaving respectfully? You don't have to agree, but it's completely uncivilized to drown out opinions with which you don't agree. At least have the courtesy to listen before expressing disagreement. These law students behaved like rabble. If they can't listen to a guest lecturer without losing their minds and shouting that person down, what will they do in court when opposing counsel is presenting their case? What would they do at a settlement conference (if a civil case)? They'd find themselves in contempt of court in very short order or fired as counsel. Those students should be placed on academic suspension for their behavior. They need to grow up - fast.
    In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

    Tis incidents like these that I miss jet57. I found it quite entertaining watching him defend/fascism by calling others fascists.

    BTW @DGUtley, the Skokie Illinois case should be taught in high schools, that's where I was introduced to "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." What ever happened to the ACLU ?? Do they even exist anymore ??

    The ACLU went from political neutrality to partisanship. Asked why his organization was willing to further violate its tradition of political neutrality, Faiz Shakir, a Democratic Party operative then serving as the ACLU’s national political director, was brutally honest. “People have funded us and I think they expect a return,” he said.

    So, they literally lie in their mission statements;

    *Protecting free speech means protecting a free press, the democratic process, diversity of thought, and so much more. The ACLU has worked since 1920 to ensure that freedom of speech is protected for everyone.*

    how sad.

    I guess i'm curious about who organized this particular speaker? By the already prepared actions of the DEI (Dumbass of equity and inclusion) I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a set up. If I really want to go down the rabbit hole, maybe it was also to see who wanted to hear him speak.

    From the OP article: "Judge Kyle Duncan of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit went to speak there at the invitation of its Federalist Society chapter. He was to talk about the Fifth Circuit, the Supreme Court and constitutional law."

    Disruption based on his standing on unrelated issues is to be expected these days.

    OK, out of the rabbit hole. Though the protest, IMO, was probably set up by the director of dei, as she arrived with prepared "speech" in support of said protesters.

    The Most unAmerican Institution of All
    College is designed solely for richkids living off a high allowance. The Affluenza of those spoiled-putrid brats, who want everything their way and right away and throw fits when they can't have it all, is contagious. The serf students are even more miserable because they have no outlet that the Preppies get from having a Born to Be Boss attitude.
