Michigan to return to the highest unemployment in the Country

Michigan has been in a bit of an ecnomic recovery for the last decade, we have been able to bring some factories, call centers, and shipping here because of the reform of our once draconian Union Labor Laws.

But Strechin Gretchen and the Demos in the House and Senate are going to return us to the days of yester year when all of the manufacturing could not wait to get out of MI in the 90's we had billboards that said " will the last one out of MI please turn off the lights"

So this will likely happen next week, despite the promise from several manufacturers to relocate ASAP To the tune of about 7500 jobs over the next 2 years.

"Fresh off their narrow election victories in November, Democratic majorities in the state legislature have joined with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to repeal the state’s decade-old right-to-work law, which ensures that no worker can be fired if they decide not to join a union. The House passed the repeal March 8, and the Senate followed suit this week, and Whitmer appears ready to send right-to-work to oblivion. This about-face, which is deeply unpopular with voters, will reverse Michigan’s hard-won economic progress."

The union takeover has arrived in Michigan (msn.com)

Elections have consequences, and this will hurt my companies as well as we build home for these Business owners and Executives.

MI will no longer be a place where you can manufacture things and be competitive. YEAH! Democrats!

I feel for you but don't look at it as permanent. It can--and very likely will--be reversed. Get involved with groups and get a ballot measure.

Unions have been dying out for decades, and yes, they've gotten some of their people in office now in MI but things change.

If a majority of voters in MI do not want a closed shop state--they'll get rid of it.

If they get a ballot initiative, there will be no need for single-issue voting. But, if MI voters want to overturn the new law and they can't get a ballot initiative, they'll have to resort to single issue voting if being a right-to-work state means that much to them.

Here's why a ballot initiative would change things...

MIDLAND, Mich. — Michigan voters support the state’s right-to-work law by a 2-to-1 margin, a new statewide poll finds. Overall, 58% of voters support the law, while only 29% oppose it. Right-to-work laws make it illegal to require workers to pay dues or fees to labor unions in order to work, even if a person works in a unionized shop and under a collective bargaining agreement. Michigan passed a right-to-work law in 2012 but unions have made it a priority for the incoming legislature to repeal the law.

You're probably a single-issue voter yourself in some cases. I doubt you'd vote for a candidate who wanted to end your 2nd Amendment rights--even if he was a conservative that agreed with your other positions.

Fight that. As hard as you can.

One thing I've learned in my years of energy activism is that nothing is set in stone. Laws and rules change when new people are elected, so start now to find the people you want and then run them for office.

You can bet the Unions are behind the latest rash of people to be elected--and they've probably been working for years to put their people in place--but you can do it too.

It's too bad we have to do things like that--but we're lucky those avenues are open to us. MI citizens don't want a closed-shop state, so it will eventually be overturned. When, however, is the question.

If you keep electing garbage you will end up living in a dump. You have to vote out failure even if it means voting for the other the other party.

Wherever you see an economic rebound Democrats will find a way to throw a wrench into the works. They are an anti-prosperity party no doubt about it.
