More Students Are Turning Away From College and Toward Apprenticeships - WSJ

Definitely a great option for many careers.

More Students Are Turning Away From College and Toward Apprenticeships - WSJ

Last spring Dina Sosa Cruz sat with her parents and sister in the family’s living room and reviewed her options: a full academic ride to the University of the District of Columbia, or an apprenticeship in the insurance industry.

The college route meant at the end of four years the 22-year-old would have a degree, a little debt and no work experience. The apprenticeship would leave her with a two-year degree, money in the bank and training in a profession that appealed to her.

    This is a positive step.

I think so too. In the past a liberal arts degree had merit- it taught critical thinking. Now that critical thinking has been replaced with Woke, the degree has no relevance for a great deal of jobs in the workforce.

    I think this is good.

I don't want anyone that has been through the construction programs of any of the Colleges, and MSU is the worst. If you want it done wrong get one of their grads to do it.

So I am all for some of the vocational programs as they are actually doing the work not pretending they are important.

No they are so indoctrinated, if you want to used professional Kitchens, Gas, or Traditional construction, they have not go a clue. If you are into solar or wind they can do a pretty good job, unless they have to justify the price, then they talk about global warming.

    It is really sad.
