In my family everyone paddles their own canoe. You might get an inheritance when someone dies and you might get some help with your education but aside from that you're on your own. One college education per customer.

I am trying to have a property with a lodge and farming equipment. it will be off the grid and self sustained. I will have fencing, Milking equipment, butchering and processing rooms, Fruit Trees, Heirloom seeds. A place to go if the dollar ever does collapse.

They all have great jobs but this will be a place to go and have fun in good times and to weather the storm in bad times.

I hope that prat that what I see coming is wrong, but I don't see any adults in our government on either side to prevent it.

I don't worry about the dollar collapsing too much I do worry about earthquake which we are prone to in this part of the world.
They estimate if we get a severe quake it will be 2 to 3 weeks before anyone comes to help. So the big deal Is the stockpile enough food and toilet paper to get through that time. We are fortunate to have a creek running through our property. It is a situation that requires foresight.

Natural disasters are easy like you said that is short term, but what you are seeing in the world right now is countries trying to collapse the Dollar.

And unless you are sitting on a lot of Gold and Silver that is a really bad thing. Imagine a world with NO welfare, NO food stamps, NO rent subsidies, 50% unemployment and Inflation that 40-70%

That is what happened in Greece, Spain and other countries that experienced this problem. And the politicians all parties are not preparing at all.
