New York nears deal to ban gas stoves in new homes

New York state lawmakers are poised to enact the nation’s first legislative ban on gas and fossil fuel appliances in most new buildings, including single-family homes. Despite outcry from Republicans nationwide about states and the federal government looking to ban gas stoves, New York appears set to move forward with the proposal in the state budget due March 31.
The reason a deal looks imminent is because Gov. Kathy Hochul and fellow Democrats in both chambers of the state Legislature have endorsed proposals to prohibit fossil fuel furnaces, water heaters, clothes dryers and gas stoves in most new construction.

New York would be the first to take this step through legislative action; California and Washington have done so through building codes. An agreement has not been finalized to ensure passage, but the new restrictions are included in all three plans being discussed in Albany.

Typical leftist tactic: When the right objects to something the left wants to do, first they deny that they are doing it. Then they obfuscate, or lie outright. Finally, they push it through.

This was never a conspiracy theory. Democratic legislators brought up the notion of banning gas stoves. It wasn’t some theory until they did so.

I for one don’t agree with the ban. It’s irrational and an example of government overreach and is something that could be handled in a different way.

But let’s not pretend that this was some conspiracy theory proven to be true. It’s just something they said they watt do, then did it. Conspiratards are still conspiratards.

I’ve objected to it since they announced their intention to ban them.

Regardless of my disapproval, my point was, it wasn’t some conspiracy theory that was dismissed as crazy. It was something Democrats announced their intention of doing. It hasn’t actually passed yet, but it might. And while I don’t agree with it, it’s not what Booman described.

If the studies are indeed right, they should be educating the public of the dangers and promoting proper ventilation, rather than banning them in new homes. Which actually hasn’t happened yet.

Liberals always call people a conspiracy theorist for exposing their intentions. Then when it happens they they move on to claim their next goal is a new conspiracy theory.

People already know about the need for proper ventilation. People aren’t as dumb as you think they are.
